Certification and approval of annual accounts for 2019-20

Regulation 15(1) of the Accounts and Audit (Wales) Regulations 2014 (as amended) requires that the Responsible Financial Officer of Dwyriw Community Council sign and date the statement of accounts, and certify that it presents fairly the financial position of Dwyriw at the end of the year and the Council’s income and expenditure for the year. The Regulations required that this be completed by 30 June 2020.

The Responsible Financial Officer signed and certified the accounts on 30 April 2020

Regulation 15(2) of the Accounts and Audit (Wales) Regulations 2014 (as amended) requires that following the certification by the Responsible Financial Officer referred to above, the Council must approve the accounts. The Regulations require that this be completed by 30 June 2020.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Dwyriw Community Council has not yet met to approve the accounts.

 

April 2020 

Coronavirus Update 

Community Council monthly meetings have been suspended for the time being owing to the coronavirus outbreak. You are welcome to contact Councillors or the Clerk by phone or email should you have any matters to raise.

The Wind Farm Trust Fund meeting for April is cancelled.

Adfa Play Areas 

The play areas in Adfa have been closed in response to the Government's current social distancing advice.  

Coronavirus 

The Council has decided to cancel the meeting that was due to take place on the 26 March 2020 due to the current crisis caused by the Coronavirus. The situation will be reviewed again in April.

 November 2019

 Powys County Council Public Access 

 PCC is looking to apply for Big Lottery funding to assist community groups improve public access in their areas. The attached letter gives more information on this and the community council would welcome feedback from local residents to assess the local support. BT Phone box removal - Cefn Coch

 The phone box near Cwm School in Cefn Coch has been put on the list for removal by BT.  The consultation period for this will run until the 11 December but if anyone has any comments on this matter please let the Clerk know before the next Council meeting on the 22 November.

The Council is inviting tenders for their grass cutting requirements for 2014 at Llanllugan Burial Ground.  The grass will need to be cut four times a year across the season, collected and disposed of.  All applicants will be expected to have the appropriate training and relevant insurance.  Please tender in writing to the Clerk at Llwyn y Brain, Adfa, Newtown, Powys, SY16 3DA by 10 January 2014

Diamond Jubilee Meeting
The Council will be holding an open meeting in Cefn Coch Inn on Friday 2 March at 7.30pm.  If you have an ideas about how you think the community should celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee then please come along to the meeting.

Diamond Jubilee Celebrations - 4 June 2012
The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations will be held in June 2012 and the Council is seeking your views on how to best celebrate this within the local community.  Please pass on any suggestions to the Clerk or one of the Councillors.

Bus Shelter for Adfa
A request for a bus shelter in Adfa was discussed at the October meeting of the Council.  The problem is finding a suitable, safe site to put a shelter and this has proved difficult in the past.  The Council would welcome any comments or suggestions you may have to help resolve this issue. 

February 2011

BT Telephone Kiosks in Cefn Coch 
BT have offered the kiosk outside Cefn Coch Inn and the one at the end of Drain lane to the community for adoption at a total cost of £1 each.  This would mean that the telephone equipment would be removed and the kiosks would become the property of the Community Council.  The Drain telephone has not been used for two years although the one outside the pub has had 12 reverse charge calls made over the same period.

The Community Council is seeking the views of local people to find out what they think about adoption.  Eventually the kiosks will be removed completely if not adopted by the local communities.

Adfa Defibrillator Group
At the July council meeting it was reported that a group was being set up in Adfa to become part of the Cefn Coch Defibrillator Group.  The
group hopes to purchase a defibrillator for Adfa village and get local people trained in CPR and use of the defibrillator.  Much of this work will be
done in conjunction with the Cefn Coch Group to save on cost.

October 2008

Allotments
A resident of Adfa has contacted the council to request that they consider providing allotments for the village.  At their October meeting the council decided to find out whether there was a demand from other people in village before looking into the matter further.  If you are interested then please let one of your councillors know or contact the clerk.
